SUPPORTING PARTNERS

Here are some of our supporting partners who help us meet our mission...

Faith Lutheran Church in New Providence supports our food pantry with a very needed delivery of pantry items every Thanksgiving weekend. Their valuable donations replenish supplies that have left our shelves nearly bare. We are most grateful to the members of the church for their loyal and unfailing generosity.

Wilson Memorial Church in Watchung has been a very generous and faithful supporter of our pantry, both through the congregation and their Mission Outreach and through The Frippery Thrift Shop that donates some of their proceeds to us.

St. Andrews Episcopal Church in New Providence is another generous supplier of food for our Pantry, including frozen turkeys for our Thanksgiving Dinner Program.

U.S. Postal Employees also support our food pantry with needed pantry items after their annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive in May. This is particularly timely, bringing in food as the pantry supplies from Thanksgiving season begin to dwindle.

Rotary Club of the Plainfields supports our holiday dinner programs three times a year. They also provide needed pantry items throughout the year. The Rotarians grow fresh vegetables in the summer and donate them to Star Fish.

The Giving Garden at the Wagner Farm Arboretum provides us with hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables and fruit from summer through fall every year.

Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church in Plainfield has its own feeding program but drops off pantry items to us just about every week.

St. Bernard/St. Stanislaus in Plainfield is another regular supporter, giving us food, fresh eggs, and monetary donations on a regular basis.

Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison provides regular food donations, also. The school's interest in Star Fish is spread throughout the different grade levels.

The Community Food Bank of NJ in Hillside provides us with many of the foodstuffs we need at a reduced cost, resulting in savings that helps us stretch our limited budget.

The Plainfield Public Library accepts "food for fines" during a designated period and donates that food to our food pantry.

College Achieve Charter School in Plainfield and North Plainfield became a contributor in 2016 with donations at Thanksgiving time.

Food for Thought is another group of volunteers that helps at the Thansgiving period. They bring in boxes of food individualized for smaller families to use at Thanksgiving.
